Advanced Human Resource Management - EADM 734
Summer 2015 Dr. Angela Louque Reflection… The Advanced Human Resource Management course helped me to understand the importance of the human capital as it relates in the profession of education. Dr. Louque shared her knowledge and expertise of what it takes to have an effective team that is responsible lead students, parents, staff members and community members. The course content and the format of the class helped me to learn a variety of topics related to HR: Human Resource Planning, Recruitment, Selection & Placement, Compensation, Collective Negotiations, Legal, Ethical, and Policy Issues along with Staff Development - Induction, Coaching & Mentoring and Team Building I learned from experts in the profession of education in the PK-12 school system and Institutes of Higher Education and from the presentations of my peers, guest speakers and engaging in critical discussions on topics related to human resource. What I found to be extremely in this course was the practical application of the concepts I learned. It was intriguing to learn about the roles and responsibilities of the leader of the HR Department of a school district. During taking this course, I interviewed for a Principal position and I accepted position graciously when I was offered it. |
